What this course actually says

Governance that works produces no events. Its entire output is absence.

Which means the better it does its job, the more unnecessary it looks, and every governance function is one budget cycle from being cut for lack of visible results. Nobody ever says thank goodness we did not start that project. The projects you stopped are invisible, and they are the product.

Drive a coast road and you pass hundreds of guardrails without registering one. Come around a fifteen mile an hour turn with no railing and you notice instantly. Notice what actually made you notice. Not the missing railing. The visible drop.

What you leave able to do

Say what a given control is preventing, in consequences rather than compliance, to somebody who is about to remove it.

Three modules, one month

Why nobody sees the railing. Show the cliff, not the railing. Build the list of what governance stopped, deferred, or reshaped last year and what each would have cost. Most PMOs have never assembled this and cannot defend themselves without it.

Where the drop actually is. Guardrails on a flat straight road are waste, and that is most of what people hate. Find something you control that carries no drop and remove it. Then find the decision with real exposure and no control at all.

Railing that would hold. A rusted post with a cable through it exists, appears on the map, and would stop nothing. So does a portfolio so overloaded that no gate is going to save it.
